Lateral flexion, abduction, adduction, side planks, all of these moves can get lost in our love of the sagittal plan but they are super important for creating a strong and integrated core. Specifically, for balancing the forces through the spine and for improving our performance. Let's take a look at the anatomy of our lateral support system, common imbalances, and a progressive series of exercises to balance, strengthen and lengthen our side body. You'll come away with a new appreciation of your "sides" and a fresh eye for understanding movement.

Tools Recommended: Small stability ball, Togu or otherwise, bolster, couch cushion or Pilates Arc, Reformer.
